Sandra Dee Video

This letter was received by Sandra Fan Mike Valeur of The Sandra Dee Fan Forum Thank you Mike for passing it on to the site.

WEBMASTER's AND EDITORS NOTE: If you have anything to contribute to this page please email me, me. Please understand I make no financial gains from these video vendors ( or this site for that matter.) I am just trying to help people find these Sandra Dee films since I am unable to afford 2 VCRs at the moment. I take no responsiblity for the legal ramifications, if any ( I am unclear on this issue really, so if I am doing anything wrong, please let me know!) , for copying videos. I just want to help people who love Sandra's films and can't find them any other way, since SO MANY ARE OUT OF PRINT or have NEVER been available commercially. It is beyond me why some of these films are not commerically available. They would definitely sell well.

PLEASE READ: If you are having difficulty contacting Sheryl, please contact the Darin Archivist Jimmy Scalia or Donna Carter for help finding your movies. Or Visit Bob's website for hard to find movies.

Letter from Sheryl Aumack owner/editor of Sea-Maid Press

Hello! I am a graphic designer as well as a published film historian and I have come up with a series of "customized cases" (almost 2,000 titles so far) for personal film libraries (see attachment of scaled-down sample from the film The Wild and the Innocent).

I have been doing this since 1993 and have, in addition, published a book containing over 300 full-page images, clean and sharp in black-and-white directly from original film pressbooks (my personal collection numbers over 2,000!) A two-volume series of "westerns only" is due out (hopefully) by the end of this year.

I also have a collection of over 3,500 films. I have the following films and cases, and many have their original film trailers, which often contain scenes not in the final production. Also, several are in the "letterbox" or widescreen format which offer much more of the film to be seen and often let performers to be seen on screen that would be "cut out" when a film is seen in the "pan-and-scan" format. Here goes (ALL, except Gidget, have customized cases):

Sample image of custom case sample ( Please see editors note below)

I offer the films at $16.95 each, with the exception of The Reluctant Debutante, which is $20.95 (as it comes from a digital master and requires a bit of a different transfer process). All films are complete and uncut and commercial-free. They come face customized face-and-spine labels and in a plastic snap-tight video case with the customized insert (my specialty). They are then "shrink-wrapped" to insure they remain water-tight and dust-free until they arrive at their final destination. The cases are available for $3.25 each and are either black or white plastic (customer choice) and are shrink-wrapped as well. We ship Priority Mail for one tape, FedEx Ground for two or more and First Class or Priority for the cases.

I have many letters of recommendation from satisfied customers. They include The Teresa Brewer Fan Club Newsletter, which speaks of our company and the service we were able to provide to its members (over 35 responses in the first couple of weeks) as well as a letter I received from one of those customers. I have provided films to actress Colleen Townsend (20th-Fox from the late 1940's) for her collection as well as Warner Bros./M.G.M. star Eleanor Parker (when Ted Turner wouldn't help her!) and the family of the late Warner Bros. star Dennis Morgan. I have also provided "old-time" radio shows to singing star Deanna Durbin (in Paris, France) when word got to her that I had some of her shows. She sent me a lovely thank-you letter.

I have a valid City of Los Angeles business license (since '93, was located in the City of Newport Beach before that with a license there since my company's founding in 1989) as well as an account with the California State Board of Equalization (since 1989).

I thank you for your time in reading this message.

Editors Note: I have chosen not to include the letters of recomendation MS. Aumack sent due to web space contraints, but feel free to ask any questions to this vendor at her e-mail address and I am sure she will be able to help you and send them to you personally in an email. The image of the customized case I have put online for you to view is actually 4 times smaller than what Ms Aumack sent, but again due to space contraints I had to make it smaller.
